The article "Answering the Cost Assessment Scaling Challenge: Modelling the Annual Cost of European Computing Services for Research" has been published in the Journal of Grid Computing. The paper summarises the project results and includes analysis of the ideal next steps taking into account recent developments in the e-Infrastructure and Cloud service domains.

e-FISCAL at the eConcertation

The project presented its results in the panel session of the eConcertation event in the panel session (slides available on the session page) on the 6th March. A small photo gallery of the panel is also already available.

e-FISCAL tools - beta versions released!

The online and Excel-based versions of the e-FISCAL cost assessment tools are now availabe on the tools page. They can be used to calculate and present annual costs of ICT infrastructures in both numeric and graphical formats on different levels of detail.

The project has created an open linkedin group to discuss ICT costing issues, including (but not limited to) the results of the e-FISCAL project results. Please join in the discussion and share your experiences, challenges and methods!

 

e-FISCAL article - Inspired Summer 2012

An article presenting the e-FISCAL project by Sergio Andreozzi ("The cost of e-Science") was published in the latest EGI Inspired newsletter. The article summarises also some of the findings from the July workshop in Samos.

The e-FISCAL project will hold a workshop on the 21st September as part fo the EGI Technical Forum programme. Registration for the event is open, with the early bird rates available until 6th August.

e-FISCAL at the e-IRG workshop (Copenhagen June 11-12)

e-FISCAL project presented its approach and initial findings at the e-IRG workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark as a contribution to ongoing discussions about the impact and sustainability of the e-Infrastructures.
